    UPDATE - Art II North - Planned Electrical Outages - 06/10, 06/24, 07/03, and 07/19

    As part of the campus electrical upgrades project, a series of electrical outages for the building is required. The outages will impact the 2nd and 3rd floors. There will be periodic construction personnel traffic in and around the building throughout the entire duration of the work. The outages will entail a total loss of power for the durations specified below, affecting systems such as heating and air, lighting, receptacle convenience power, card/access/access control, elevators, etc. It is highly recommended that sensitive equipment unable to withstand an outage should be powered down the day before to avoid unanticipated impacts to the equipment during the outage window. After each outage, users will be able to re-enter the building and confirm that power is restored and systems are fully functional. Any issues should be communicated immediately to the project team using the contact information provided at the end of this notification.

    REMINDER - Engineering - Planned Electrical Outages Round 2 - From 05/20/2024 to 07/11/2024

    As part of the campus electrical upgrades project, a series of electrical outages for the building is required. Each electrical panel will undergo three 2-hour electrical outages during off-hours throughout the Summer 2024 semester. There will be periodic construction personnel traffic in and around the building throughout the entire duration of the work. Additionally, a temporary power skid will be set up in front of Engineering Room 120 to support the ongoing electrical upgrades. The outages will entail a total loss of power for the durations specified below, affecting systems such as heating and air, lighting, receptacle convenience power, card/access/access control, elevators, etc. It is highly recommended that sensitive equipment unable to withstand an outage should be powered down the day before to avoid unanticipated impacts to the equipment during the outage window. After each outage, users will be able to re-enter their space and confirm that power is restored and fully functional. Any issues should be promptly communicated to the project team using the contact information provided below. **Please also note that the building will be closed to the public throughout the 2-hour outage windows. ** Duration of Impacts: The outage schedule is as follows: 1. Between Monday, May 20th, 2024, and Friday, June 7th, 2024, from 4:00 am to 6:00 am each workday. 2. Between Friday, June 28th, 2024, and Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, from 4:00 am to 6:00 am each workday. 3. On Thursday, July 11th, 2024, from 4:00 am to 6:00 am.

    Work will require construction personnel to occupy rooms equipment rooms 104A, 200, 200A, and 318A, as well as ceiling spaces in rooms 104, 104B, 202, 202C, 202D, 206, and 318 throughout the duration of work. Please be advised that work will result in localized dust and noise, but there are no anticipated impacts to any building systems. Any work within specific occupied spaces will continue to be coordinated with room users prior to the work taking place.

    Canyon Crest Drive - From 04/22/2024 to 04/26/2024

    Fence installation will require vehicular traffic on Canyon Crest Drive to be intermittently limited to one alternating thru-lane for both directions of travel. Traffic will be directed by signage, flagmen and traffic control to ensure thru-traffic is safely maintained while work is being conducted above Canyon Crest Drive. Proactive precautions will be in place to avoid falling debris from impacting the road below, but drivers are advised to please heed all signage and flaggers who will be monitoring conditions throughout the duration of work.

    Please be advised that the end date and time for the work have been extended. In addition to all previously communicated information, a portable construction restroom will be installed in front of room 122D for construction personnel. Any work within specific occupied spaces will continue to be coordinated with room users prior to the work taking place.

    Physics - From 02/29/2024 to 03/04/2024

    Installation of fire alarm conduits will necessitate construction personnel to occupy electrical and mechanical rooms 32, 32B, 32D, 33 and 33C throughout the duration of work. Work will not cause any shutdown or outages to any building systems. Please be advised that work will result in localized dust and noise.
