Campus Impacts & Loops

Campus Impacts

The project's total construction timeline spans two years with the start of the work commencing in May 2023. We successfully completed the underground infrastructure work over Summer of 2023 and the new structure for Substation A is slated to be completed by Winter 2024.

Beginning in Summer 2024, our primary focus will shift towards enhancing utility infrastructure within buildings. Approximately 26 buildings are earmarked for these upgrades during this phase. Consequently, there may be temporary partial closures of sidewalks/roads, planned electrical outages, and typical construction-related dust and noise. Our project team has already begun partnering with department liaisons far in advance of the upcoming work to coordinate and minimize impacts. For further details on the affected areas, please refer to the map outlining the building impact loops below.

Each distinct building will experience periodic outages within a maximum 2-month timeframe. The outages will entail a total loss of power during the specified durations, affecting systems such as heating and air, lighting, receptacle convenience power, card/access/access control, elevators, etc.

Loop 1:

Planned outages in loop 1 are scheduled between June 2024 and December 2024. Please reference the highlighed map below for buildings periodically impacted in loop 1.
