Tree Removal behind GMCS and Lane Closure on Canyon Crest Drive - From 12/19/2024 to 01/17/2025

The re-routing of high-voltage power lines on the hillside between GMCS and Canyon Crest Drive will necessitate the removal of several trees. In compliance with SDSU’s practices, replacement trees will be planted elsewhere on campus to enhance the environment of the campus’ wildlife and human community. The work will impact vehicular traffic through Canyon Crest Drive so that a portion of the outside east-bound lane will be temporarily closed. However, thru-traffic will be maintained. Additionally, pedestrian traffic through the hillside ramp between Canyon Crest Drive and GMCS will be closed permanently. Pedestrian access to campus will remain available via the accessible route through the Chemical Sciences Lab elevator to the 5th floor. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be directed by signage, flagmen and traffic control. Please be advised that the work may generate localized dust and noise, although no utility outages are expected.
