The re-routing of high-voltage power lines on the hillside between GMCS and Canyon Crest Drive will necessitate the removal of several trees. The removal of trees is being timed to avoid disturbance of any nesting activities of birds that may occasionally inhabit the surrounding areas. In compliance with SDSU’s practices, replacement trees will be planted elsewhere on campus to enhance the environment of the campus’ wildlife and human community. The work will impact vehicular traffic through Canyon Crest Drive so that a portion of the outside east-bound lane will be temporarily closed. However, thru-traffic will be maintained. Additionally, pedestrian traffic through the hillside ramp between Canyon Crest Drive and GMCS will be closed permanently. Pedestrian access to campus will remain available via the accessible route through the Chemical Sciences Lab elevator to the 5th floor.
