Upcoming Impacts
REMINDER - Physics Astronomy- Building Outages - On 09/05/2024, 09/16/2024, and 10/10/2024
Sep 5As part of the campus electrical upgrades project, a planned electrical outage for the building is required. There will be periodic construction personnel traffic in and around the building throughout the entire duration of the work. The outage will entail a total loss of power for the durations specified below, affecting systems such as heating and air, lighting, receptacle convenience power, card/access/access control, elevators, etc. It is highly recommended that sensitive equipment unable to withstand an outage should be powered down the day before to avoid unanticipated impacts to the equipment during the outage window. After the outage, users will be able to re-enter the building and confirm that power is restored, and systems are fully functional. Any issues should be communicated immediately to the project team using the contact information provided at the end of this notification. ** Please also note that the Physics Astronomy building will be closed to the public throughout the outage windows detailed below. ** Duration of Impacts: The outage schedule is as follows: 1. On Thursday, September 5th, 2024, from 3:30 am to 7:30 am 2. On Monday, September 16th, 2024, from 3:30 am to 7:30 am 3. On Thursday, October 10th, 2024, from 3:30 am to 7:30 am

Zura Way, Centennial Plaza, Open Air Theater and Campanile Mall - From 09/03/2024 to 11/15/2024
Sep 3The investigation of existing fiber pathways will intermittently impact pedestrian pathways on Zura Way, Centennial Plaza, Open Air Theater and Campanile Mall. Any impacts to pedestrian paths will be clearly marked with signage and directed by flagmen. There will be periodic parking closures in parking Lots 2 and 2A. Please note that the work may generate localized dust and noise, but it is not expected to affect utility services.
Physics - From 08/30/2024 to 11/01/2024
Aug 30Construction personnel will occupy Electrical Room 2A, the Physics Workshop/Storage Room 1, and the Service Elevator to the Basement. However, hallway access for occupants will be maintained. Temporary impacts will include the presence of medium voltage cable routed into the Physics Workshop/Storage Room 1 running 10 feet overhead for the duration indicated on this notification. Please note that active work may generate localized dust and noise.
Planetarium Court - From 08/30/2024 to 11/01/2024
Aug 30Due to ongoing electrical upgrades in the Physics building, construction fencing, and barriers will be set up within the planetarium court to restrict access to active work areas. Please be advised that work will result in localized dust and noise.
Aztec Circle Drive - From 08/26/2024 to 11/15/2024
Aug 26The investigation of existing fiber pathways will intermittently impact vehicular access on East side of Aztec Circle Drive. Flagmen will manage traffic flow in alternating directions to maintain vehicular access. No significant impacts to pedestrian or ADA paths are anticipated. Any impacts to pedestrian paths will be clearly marked with signage and directed by flagmen. Please note that the work may generate localized dust and noise, but it is not expected to affect utility services.
Physics Astronomy - From 08/20/2024 to 10/18/2028
Aug 20Construction personnel will need to occupy electrical room 2A for the duration of the work. Additionally, construction traffic will occur within the Physics Workshop/Storage room 1 and the service elevator to the basement, but hallway access for occupants will be maintained. Please note that this work may generate localized dust and noise.
Planetarium Court - From 08/20/2024 to 10/18/2024
Aug 20Due to ongoing electrical upgrades in the Physics Astronomy building, construction fencing and barriers will be set up within the planetarium court to restrict access to active work areas. The Kurapia and surrounding landscape will be protected from foot traffic and electrical equipment. Please be advised that work will result in localized dust and noise.
