As part of the campus electrical upgrades project, a planned electrical outage for the Atkinson Hall and North Education Distribution buildings is required. There will be periodic construction personnel traffic in and around the Atkinson Hall and North Education Distribution buildings throughout the entire duration of the work. The outage will entail a total loss of power for the durations specified below, affecting systems such as heating and air, lighting, receptacle convenience power, card/access/access control, elevators, etc. It is highly recommended that sensitive equipment unable to withstand an outage should be powered down the day before to avoid unanticipated impacts to the equipment during the outage window. After the outage, users will be able to re-enter the buildings and confirm that power is restored, and systems are fully functional. Three ADA parking stalls on East Commons Way, parallel to the Atkinson Hall building, will be closed to facilitate construction material loading and unloading. There will also be construction traffic between the hours of work detailed below on East Commons Way, going into the electrical yard between Atkinson Hall and North Education. Additionally, there will be a small fenced-in area near the electrical yard outside of the North Education building, enclosing a temporary transformer. Please also be advised that the work will result in localized dust and noise.

Due to a crane pick activity scheduled to place a rooftop transformer on the roof of the Aztec Bookstore building, the end of East Commons Way between North Education 60 and Charles B. Bell Jr. Pavilion will be temporarily closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic for the duration specified below. Please heed the direction and instruction of flaggers in the area.

Trenching and underground utility work will require vehicular access on a portion of Aztec Circle Drive to the East of Atkinson Hall to be limited to one lane throughout the duration of work. Vehicular thru-traffic will be maintained by flagmen directing traffic in alternating directions and alternate pedestrian/accessible paths will be delineated by signage, flagmen and traffic control. Please be advised that work will result in localized dust and noise.

Temporary impacts due to potholing affecting users of Atkinsons Hall, Donald P. Shiley BioScience Center, East Commons (EC), Facilities Services (FS), Geology / Mathematics / Comp. Science (GMCS), Industrial Technology (IT), Life Sciences North (LS N), North Education (NE) and Physics from 06:30 AM, April 13, 2022 to 5:00 PM, Friday, May 6, 2022.

Temporary impacts to the E Commons Way and Aztec Cir Dr affecting building users of Atkinsons Hall, Chemical Sciences Laboratory (CSL), East Commons (EC), and Shiley Bioscience Center (BSCI) from 6:30 am to 10:00 am on February 15, 2022, and February 16, 2022.
