Sep 30Due to a crane pick activity scheduled to place a transformer in the Bioscience Breezeway the Avenue of the Arts will be temporarily closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic for the duration specified below. The accessible path of travel will be rerouted using signage. Please heed the direction and instruction of flaggers in the area.
Donald P. Shiley Bioscience Center (BSCI) - Building Outages - On 09/30/2024, 10/18/2024, and 10/24/2024
Sep 30As part of the campus electrical upgrades project, a planned electrical outage for the building is required. There will be periodic construction personnel traffic in and around the building throughout the entire duration of the work. The outage will entail a total loss of power for the durations specified below, affecting systems such as heating and air, lighting, receptacle convenience power, card/access/access control, elevators, etc. It is highly recommended that sensitive equipment unable to withstand an outage should be powered down the day before to avoid unanticipated impacts to the equipment during the outage window. After the outage, users will be able to re-enter the building and confirm that power is restored, and systems are fully functional. Any issues should be communicated immediately to the project team using the contact information provided at the end of this notification. ** Please note that the outage only impacts systems and equipment not supported by the emergency generator. Any equipment plugged into designated outlets supported by the emergency generator will only experience a brief interruption. Please also note that the Donald P. Sep 26The concrete pour for the transformer curb in electrical room 469C will result in minor impacts, including the presence of construction personnel, localized dust, and noise. However, there are no significant impacts expected for occupants, nor are there any anticipated outages to building systems.
Avenue of the Arts - From 09/25/2024 to 10/02/2024
Sep 25The demolition of existing medium voltage cables will intermittently impact vehicular access on Avenue of the Arts. Flagmen will manage traffic flow in alternating directions to maintain vehicular access, while alternate pedestrian and accessible paths will be clearly marked with signage and directed by flagmen. No significant impacts to pedestrian or ADA paths are anticipated. Please note that the work may generate localized dust and noise, but it is not expected to affect utility services.
