Upcoming Impacts
Charles B. Bell Jr. Pavilion Building – From 12/20/2024 to 01/31/2025
Dec 20The work will require construction personnel to occupy Electrical Room 123 for the duration of the work. Please note that while the work may generate localized dust and noise, no building system outages are anticipated.
Tree Removal behind GMCS and Lane Closure on Canyon Crest Drive - From 12/19/2024 to 01/17/2025
Dec 19The re-routing of high-voltage power lines on the hillside between GMCS and Canyon Crest Drive will necessitate the removal of several trees. The removal of trees is being timed to avoid disturbance of any nesting activities of birds that may occasionally inhabit the surrounding areas. In compliance with SDSU’s practices, replacement trees will be planted elsewhere on campus to enhance the environment of the campus’ wildlife and human community. The work will impact vehicular traffic through Canyon Crest Drive so that a portion of the outside east-bound lane will be temporarily closed. However, thru-traffic will be maintained. Additionally, pedestrian traffic through the hillside ramp between Canyon Crest Drive and GMCS will be closed permanently. Pedestrian access to campus will remain available via the accessible route through the Chemical Sciences Lab elevator to the 5th floor. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be directed by signage, flagmen and traffic control. Please be advised that the work may generate localized dust and noise, although no utility outages are expected.

Dec 19Please be aware that ongoing testing in the cogeneration plant may result in up to three brief utility service interruptions within the timeframe indicated below. In the unlikely scenario where an interruption may occur, each interruption would not be expected to last longer than 20 minutes at a time. While the likelihood of interruptions is low, we recommend frequently saving your work, shutting down or unplugging sensitive equipment, and scheduling any critical tasks that cannot tolerate an interruption outside the testing window as a precaution. If you have questions or would like more details about potential impacts and recommended measures to prepare for potential utility impacts, please use the contact information provided below.

UPDATE - Administration Building – Planned Electrical Outages - From 12/04/2024 to 01/17/2025
Dec 4As part of the campus electrical upgrades project, planned electrical outages for the building are required. There will be periodic construction personnel traffic in and around the building throughout the entire duration of the work. The outages will entail a total loss of power for the durations specified below, affecting systems such as heating and air, lighting, receptacle convenience power, card/access/access control, elevators, etc. It is highly recommended that sensitive equipment unable to withstand an outage should be either unplugged or powered down the day before to avoid unanticipated impacts to the equipment during the outage window. After the outage, users will be able to re-enter the building and confirm that power is restored, and systems are fully functional. Any issues should be communicated immediately to the project team using the contact information provided at the end of this notification. ** Please note that the outages only impact systems and equipment not supported by the emergency generator. Any equipment plugged into designated outlets supported by the emergency generator will only experience a brief interruption. Also note that the building will be closed to the public throughout the outage windows detailed below. ** Duration of Impacts: The outage schedule is as follows: 1. On Wednesday, December 4th, 2024, from 12:00 am to 8:00 am 2. On Friday, December 20th, 2024, from 3:30 am to 7:30 am 3. On Wednesday, January 22nd, 2025, from 3:30 am to 7:30 am
