Update 07/12/2024: Please be aware that the Engineering building will experience an additional planned electrical outage, which was not included in the previously communicated list due to unforeseen conditions encountered during the ongoing work. The building-wide outage will result in the same impacts as originally communicated including a full building-closure during the hours of duration for the work. We suggest the same precautions as previously recommended for powering down sensitive equipment.

Update 06/20/2024: Please note that the overall outage window for the second series of electrical outages has changed. The outage duration for each electrical panel of 2 hours as well as all other impacts remains the same as originally communicated.
Updated Duration of Impacts: The actual loss of power experienced will be one 2-hour event within the 3-hour window indicated below.
- Between Friday, June 28th, 2024, and Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, from 4:00 am to 7:00 am each workday. (Previously 4:00 am to 6:00 am each workday)

Engineering – Planned Electrical Outages

Please be advised that Planning, Design & Construction will be performing a project that may impact you. Below are the details of the scope of work and anticipated impacts:
Scope of Work: Install temporary power and upgrade the electrical infrastructure throughout the building.
Reason for Project: Work associated with the Electrical Infrastructure Upgrades project in support of current campus needs and future growth.
Anticipated Impacts: As part of the campus electrical upgrades project, a series of electrical outages for the building is required. Each electrical panel will undergo three 2-hour electrical outages during off-hours throughout the Summer 2024 semester. There will be periodic construction personnel traffic in and around the building throughout the entire duration of the work. Additionally, a temporary power skid will be set up in front of Engineering Room 120 to support the ongoing electrical upgrades.
The outages will entail a total loss of power for the durations specified below, affecting systems such as heating and air, lighting, receptacle convenience power, card/access/access control, elevators, etc. It is highly recommended that sensitive equipment unable to withstand an outage should be powered down the day before to avoid unanticipated impacts to the equipment during the outage window.
After each outage, users will be able to re-enter their space and confirm that power is restored and fully functional. Any issues should be promptly communicated to the project team using the contact information provided below.
**Please also note that the building will be closed to the public throughout the 2-hour outage windows. **
Duration of Impacts: The outage schedule is as follows:
- Between Monday, May 20th, 2024, and Friday, June 7th, 2024, from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM each workday.
- Between Friday, June 28th, 2024, and Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM each workday.
- On Thursday, July 11th, 2024, from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM.
