To: Life Sciences North (LSN), Donald P. Shiley Bioscience Center, Life Sciences South (LS S), and Facilities Services (FS) Users

Please be advised that Planning, Design & Construction will be performing a project that may impact you. Below are the details of the scope of work and anticipated impacts:

Scope of Work: Pull electrical cables in preparation for building electrical upgrades.

Reason for Project: Preliminary work associated with the Electrical Infrastructure Upgrades project in support of current campus needs and future growth.

Anticipated Impacts:

Medium voltage cable pulling work occurring through the Donald P. Shiley Bioscience Center’s covered breezeway and Life Sciences North (LSN)’s electrical room will require access to the LSN loading dock will be temporarily closed during active construction hours. Deliveries to LSN, Life Sciences South (LS S) and the Donald P. Shiley Bioscience Center will need to be directed to the south side of LSN.

Access to the Biohazardous Waste Disposal Location, situated in the cage to the East of the Donald P. Shiley Bioscience Center (BSCI), will also be limited during construction hours.  Access to disposal area is available outside of active construction activity hours.  Otherwise, arrangements can be coordinated with Alejandro Rivera at (858)248-5739 or [email protected].  

There are no electrical or other building utility service interruptions anticipated. Please be advised that work will result in localized dust and noise.
