Please be advised that Planning, Design & Construction will be preparing for a project that may impact you. Below are the details of the scope of work and anticipated impacts:

Scope of Work: Utility infrastructure upgrades to underground conduits including pothole investigation demolition, patching and repair of hardscape.

Reason for Project: Install new utility infrastructure in support of the Electrical Infrastructure Upgrades Project.

Anticipated Impacts: Trenching and underground utility work will require vehicular access on a portion of Avenue of the Arts to the South of Art (I) South to be limited to one lane throughout the duration of work. Vehicular thru-traffic will be maintained by flagmen directing traffic in alternating directions and alternate pedestrian/accessible paths will be delineated by signage, flagmen and traffic control. Parking spaces between Hardy Tower and Professional Studies & Fine Arts (PSFA) will be closed, and access to the staircase in the Arts & Letters building will be periodically limited to the use of one staircase. Please be advised that work will result in localized dust and noise.  Revisions to this notification with updates including more specific durations of impacts will be posted in advance.

End Time / Date:  04:00 PM, Monday, August 7, 2023

Note that active construction hours are from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm from Monday through Friday. After work hours, steel plates will be installed over open trench areas and traffic control will be removed to allow for normal pedestrian access until the next active construction workday.
